The dark gray will darken your kitchen quite a bit. Warm wood tones sometimes look drab with gray, but maple seems to manage to make it work if the gray is very light. Wood cabinets tend to look best with simple backsplash especially if the countertop has a lot of movement - which yours does. The arabesque could be a tad busy. I like the neutral subway tile best. Computer monitors are not true to color. I am not sure if that neutral is the best match for your counters and cabinets. I would see if there are some variations on that one - different tones of white from very light gray to cream and compare those.

The lighter subway tile would work best. The dark one will be too dark, and the arabesque too busy.

I would do the far right subway tile but in a larger proportion.

The arabesque tile is too busy for the granite and the grey seems too dark for your kitchen. I would enlarge the tile size of the light subway tile so there are less grout lines, creating a cleaner look overall.

To answer one question, the granite is called "Ice Blue" (no blue), which is Delicatus.

So, the consensus seems to be that a lighter subway tile would be best. The issue that in my "non-creative" mind, the tones in the light one were too creamy, and didn't resemble any tones in the granite. I'll grab some more today in a wider variety of tones. Also, brick layout for the tiles, right?

With the lighter tile, any suggestions on wall color?

The lightest color might work best, but we usually recommend going with one of the lightest colors in the countertop. It looks like the arabesque color would work, but might be better in a subway tile.

Have you thought of a tumbled stone with individual brown accent tiles?
