Is this going in a tv room? The second chair looks more comfortable because of the higher and upholstered arms.

Its open TV and living room and these are going in the living room part. Would both fabric work with the sectional?

It's hard to tell on my monitor...what are the fabric colors on the chairs?

Can we see a picture of the other side of the room?

This is the view to the left of me and the picture in the original post is the view to the right of me when I’m standing at the entrance. The black sofa set is going to be replaced by the sofa set in he original picture.

Chair color is a shade of brown. The prints on the chair is not on the pillows.

It's hard to tell from the pictures. The chairs look greyish on my monitor and the sectional looks more off white/tan. Grey and tan are hard to make work together unless you find a rug or curtains with both colors in it. In MOST cases, you don't need to worry about matching the wood on a chair with other wood items in the room. A contrasting wood usually looks better. In the case of that chair, however the wood seems to have an ashy grey tone. A greyish wood does not play well with other natural wood colors.

Sorry, posted without seeing your last reply. Since you are keeping the ivory/beige sofa set look for an accent chair with more warm tones like dark browns and off white and stay away from grey.

I have to say that the sectional looks a lot less comfortable than your original furniture. I assume you've checked it for comfort by sitting/lounging in it. I prefer the second chair because it looks much more comfortable

@songbird07, Thank you for the advice. The chairs are definitely brown. So I don't have to worry about finding the center/coffee table if the wood doesn't need to match.

@ingrid_vc so. CA zone 9: Its not as comfortable as the current one but we're hoping to use this side of the living room only to entertain guests. So I'm thinking it would be OK. Its not very uncomfortable either. We want comfortable seating in the tv room 'coz that's wear we're spending a lot of time sitting.

I like the first chair also better with the sectional, style-wise..frankly I just love it better overall. Is it comfortable enough? if yes, go for it..if no, obviously don't compromise. No, you don't need to match the wood in the chair precisely, neither you need to keep all the tables wood. You can mix in other fabrics(like an ottoman? also additonal seating. just beware of fabric overload..should be very well considered), metals, glass, woven grass, you name it..obviously some of it can be wood too. Keep to the same vibe, but feel free to mix your textures and materials.

If it's brown then either one will work. I like the look of the first chair better but the second looks more comfortable. Are they the same size? Hard to tell, but the one with the wood looks smaller. You may be able to get two in the space. At the very least it could give you more flexibility for arranging furniture if it is smaller chair.

Did you see this post yesterday? She also has a long living room. It might save you from having to buy a lot of additional furniture & having two sitting areas in one room.
