Photo Rendering

There are many ways to present design ideas to clients. Do photo realistic images help convey the design intent better than a colored plan?

    It definitely does a good job conveying what you want to do for your client but I wouldn't say its better, especially depending on whose doing the planning.

    Some people have no ability to visualize. I have held up casing for people, right on the hung door itself, and asked which one. The reply? "well, can you go ahead and trim one out each way so I can see what it looks like?"

    I think for most people, imagining a drawn image as opposed to seeing a photo realistic image would be more difficult, so a photo image would be preferable (and easier!).
