You gotta give us more to work with. Like, what room in the house, what else is in the room, what style does the room have, what's your budget, additional photos. And, does what is on the chest have to stay?

This wall is located in the living room and the style is southwest modern. I'd like to keep the chest there and everything that's on it, but wouldn't be opposed to moving it if there is no way to work with it. Max budget would be $500. here's a pic of what I have done to the rest of the room so far, but it's still a work in progress.

Can you center the dresser if you pull it out a few inches from the wall (put something behind the feet to keep it from getting pushed back against the wall)? The dresser is open underneath, so I don't think you'd need much, and it would look much better centered.

Maybe a textile wallhanging, or Navajo rug?

If that were my room and I had $500 to spend, I’d buy a different chest that doesn’t block the vent. Something along these lines (for general shape; not suggesting these specific pieces).

Or, move it to another spot. Then maybe you could put a simple bench or console on that wall with art above it.

Sueb20, might you share the source of the first chest you pictured? Lovely!
