Mayo is a small family run company. The sons have somewhat recently taken over from the father. Although I have never owned a Mayo piece I think they have a very good product, I am not familiar at all with the others

Strangely I recently bought a couch from ethan allen and it has been a very good purchase. I had the cushion upgraded and it is a very nice couch. I really wanted the avery-boardman, but like you didn't want to drop $9-12k on the couch. I'd avoid ashley at all costs.

No to Ashley, and NO to Bernhardt. The second being overpriced total JUNK,the underside looks like the cheapest box spring for a bad mattress... The first, a better price horrible junk........and a landfill in less than a year.

You need to find a good furniture store, not less than 3500.00 for a decent sofa in a good basic fabric, and not less than 1500.00 for chair. Look for eight way hand tie springs, and a spring down cushion. Hickory Chair, Taylor King, CR Laine, Lee Industries..... some Ethan Allen........not the online stuff. Period. And truth.

If you MUST go online, try Arhaus Furniture. Better than those you mentioned. Decent fabrics as well. A three or four year sofa with CARE, and lots of fluffing and cushion rotation.

I have had the Ashley Bladen sofa in black in my family room for 2 years now. It is jumped on, and climbed on daily by 3 boys, 10 years old and under. Of the people who sit on it, my husband is the heaviest at 150lb. I am actually surprised that it looks and still feels new after all the abuse. The only annoying thing is the seat cushions slide out, but you can put a rug gripper under it to fix that.
