We replaced the same footprint plus our master bedroom and have two dogs and a cat which run all over the house. Originally we looked at vinyl flooring but went with long planked porcelain tile that looked like wood. The cost was a bit more to install but the look it 10x better and it is awesome with pets.

Tile is an option, but it's cold and hard. There is also the dilemma of grout lines and color which some people struggle with.

LVP holds up well, especially with high traffic areas and pets.

We installed medium wood tone Core Tech Plus LVP throughout our home. We have numerous LARGE dogs/pups and 9 grandkids who visit. It is nice to walk on without that "hollow" sound, comfortable to stand on, doesn't show dog or sweaty footprints, no damage from dogs after 4 years and cleans up with mop & water. I occasionally use a vinyl floor cleaner added to the water just because I feel like I should. It probably looks a "little nicer" when I do but not that much nicer! Although wood floors would be my first choice, I know they wouldn't hold up. LVP can be taken up/replaced if needed. I can't think of anything we don't like about LVP.

We have had vinyl plank in our walk out for 10 yrs 2 large dogs with free access to a dog run all day and numerous kids and grand kids in and out of a pool all summer never had a problem , mops up , looks like new , go for it.

I don't know what this has to do with pools, but are putting the highend (Mannington Ardura) vinyl planks in the kitchen and (just to keep it on subject) the pool room.

We have quite a few samples of Cali Bamboo Pro (vinyl flooring) laid out in our kitchen floor right now. Great colors and feels solid without being clicky. I scratch tested it pretty hard with a key and it did very well. A friend put down the Cali Plus in their bedroom and gave us a piece of it to compare. It's thinner and has a cork backing, but has a nice, more homey feel to it. It didn't hold up quite as well to the scratch test, but it definitely handled it better than wood would have. It also doesn't have the color choices we're interested in. At $2.99 for the Pro and $3.29 for the Plus, it isn't too badly priced. The Cali-Complete underlayment is 60 cents per square foot and what is suggested to go with the Pro. We are also looking at Armstrong Luxe, but it's more expensive, around $4.50, I believe. I'm betting Cali-Pro will be our choice, but we still have a few months to figure this out. Would love to hear about any experience anyone has with this product.

In the previous pool room I used a cheaper Armstrong vinyl which worked OK. In the new house the kitchen, master bath, and the pool room will have Mannington Ardura vinyl planks in various styles. It's 100% floodable. They've finished the kitchen and the bathroom and my bar. The pool room gets started on tomorrow.

Today, we looked at Coretec HD Barnwood Rustic Pine. It's one of the more realistic pieces we've seen and felt. You can actually feel the ridges in the grain and knots. More expensive than Cali-Bamboo and Armstrong, but may get our vote for looking the most like real wood. So much to consider . . . .

we are looking at Cali Bamboo Vinyl Flooring too. The company very willingly sent all color samples of the Plus. We are considering Ash Grey, Nantucket, Redefined Pine and Aged Hickory. We have a beach view condo and would love anyone's opinions. on color. It is beautiful flooring and the price is right. Anyone have problems with Cali Vinyl?
