We got rid of soffit in our kitchen remodel except over bay french door entry due to plumbing. we will be boxing in with less projection and depth of soffit. problem is do we run soffit all the way to kitchen wall cabinet or take the option of making soffit to frame bay area allowing about 8" of cavity between the two? 6" crown to ceiling will be installed. soffit will be 7" face and 12" projection.
