I was thinking something like this, but with brass legs.

Is you de-clutter the coffee table and pull them to within 18" or less of it, you don't need a table between them. If, however you ever move them to another spot where their occupants don't have access to a surface to put down their drinks, you'll wish you had one. What table do you have in mind? You want one that arrives within 1" of the arms.

Here's a budget buster but really cool. It may be too tall though.

Try one of West Elm’s “martini” tables...they have one in a bronze-gold color that I love as a side table...its very low. Would look good to the side of one of the chairs...just to break up the symmetry. Don’t put one in the middle

Love those tables...but they are quite the hefty price tag. There are others that give a similar feel for less. Agree with OldGrayMare, not in between the two tables, put it on the side of the right hand chair along with a fab floor lamp. Love those chairs!

If you put a table between the pretty chairs, won't it bother the view of your fireplace? The only thing I might consider is a low garden stool for sitting a cup of coffee/tea/drink. Probably better would be a floor lamp behind the one on the left and a small table on the right side of the other chair....nothing in between them.

What is Great about this table is it’s adjustable but it is price. I’ll show some others as well. You didn’t ask, but have you thought about adjusting your rug to be centered on the fireplace so the chairs can be placed more evenly. They are beautiful chairs . . . lucky you!

celerygirl, it comes down to practicality.... we have friends over for drinks/ dinner often. What you don’t see is behind the cluttered coffee table in the pic is a sofa. Then the coffee table, and now these two chairs will give us additional seating (they replace one ugly lounge chair). But they’re a bit far from the coffee table, so guests have no place for that glass of wine or appetizers. I think a side table that I can move in between when our friends are over will do the trick. So now it’s just a matter of choosing. I don’t want to block the fire, so I’ll choose one wo a lot of “bulk”. Maybe even lucite. But probably metal/ glass.

I’ll post a picture when it’s purchased!

No table might look better where the chairs currently are, but if you do need a table, then invest in something small and functional. Note you can always set it off to the side or store it when not in use.

Seajay, that’s perfect!!!!!!! Wow, thanks. I just got home last night from a two week trip, so I’ll measure the height of the chairs and check out this table.

Another option could be to buy table that could be easily moved— like one with a handle—then keep it on the left side of the left chair and move it to the center when needed. It seems to me it would be less than ideal to visually separate the seating area from the fireplace.
