Alphonso Mango in north texas

Hey guys,

Sooooo

My Alphonso mango doesn't look too good. Couple weeks ago it got into the teens but all my trees were in the garage in 55+ degrees with buckets of water for humidity but the Alphonso and some of my guavas leaves started to wilt and fall off. The guavas are coming back but the Alphonso is getting worse. All the branches are brittle and breaking right off. Haven't scratched the trunk to see what's going on yet. Has anyone experienced anything like this. Now sure whats going on. Last winter I moved it into my house and some of the leaves fell off but it didn't look anywhere as bad as it looks now. I'm scared it won't recover. One of my friends said to check to see if its root bound so I will do that tonight. Any other suggestions ?

It should re-sprout then. As soon as your warm weather gets going,it will recover.

Going on what you said? It went far too dry. IF it saw even one night of teens? I think its a goner. So,water it if the problems only started after being kept in the garage..and it might sprout at the axils.

Outside temps were in the teens but the garage stayed above 50 degree. I thought it might be the dry air sucking the moisture out of the leaves but the leaves continued to get worse even when the temps are higher

I pulled the mango out of the pot to check the roots and they looked fine and not root bound. I added 2inches of new soil at the bottom along with worm castings, Jobes organic fertilizer, and azomite. Then put the plant back in and added more goodies too the top. The soil was not wet or dry so I don't think its over watered. I always check with my moisture meter before I water my plants.
