Rug size — help!

I’ve got a design dilemma in my entry. I have double doors (with sidelights) that measure 11’. I was thinking perhaps a 3’x11’ turkish, kilim or vintage rug but these are surprisingly hard to find under $1,000 at that size. Any other suggestions or do I go with that plan and sea the corners of the internet for a reasonable rug? The full entryway is 24’ wide (5’ openings into kitchen/great room on each side) by 6.5’ deep. The inset area with shiplap is 12’ wide x 2’ deep. I plan on a long console table with artwork and some plants. Simple, modern, boho.

IMO you can put a 5x7 in front of the doors if you’re looking to use a standard size. How deep is the console?

I will be custom making the entry console table so I can make it as deep (or not deep as necessary) I was thinking roughly 14” wide by 7’ long since it will be on a 12’ long wall.

There are beautiful runners for sale on ebay, well under your $1000 budget. We recently purchased 2 11 ft+ runners, cost of both was around $800.

Maggieq. I didn’t even think about ebay. And my budget is way way under $1000 :) it jist seems like 3’ wide is an odd length. I’ll check ebay out. Thanks!!!

3x12 is a standard size for runners, although handmade runners are typically not exactly those dimensions. Search amazon.com for 3x12 runners and you'll find many.

Could you buy an 8'x10' or a 9'x12' and have it cut down? I don't think edging a rug costs very much.
