With the beautiful floors in this room, also keeping in mind the furnishings I can see, I would go with a deep cream. It will add brightness, while also giving depth so furnishings appear grounded.

Paint color is usually picked last and since this isn't your furniture, you are not giving us anything to go on. A photo of your furniture, area rugs, art would help in a paint color suggestion.

I would love to stay away from this paint colour however I do love it .. I think a new home it's time for a bit of "change" ...

I would lean towards a rich cream..this color appears dark!!

Benjamin Moore's Butter Cream is a very nice wall color, and trim of cloud white by BM would look beautiful.

Well I'll just piss everybody off by saying I think the walls need to go a mid tone. The color needs to harmonize not contrast. The room is far from dark and could stand to "warm" up a little. A color like Sherwin Williams #sw 6123 baguette would compliment the black sofa, redish curtains and the wooden floors. That's my input.

I totally agree with Gantts. You have lots of light and the stark contrast might be to cold. Also, very traditional.
