Design Dilemma Kitchens

Split level island with sink or big island with no sink?

hello everyone, can you please give me your opinion on whether or not it's a good idea to get a split-level island in the kitchen with a sink? I don't like the idea of a one-level island with a sink because I don't want dishes and water splashing all over the island . Is the two island practical or too old-fashioned? Thanks!

One level. Prep sink. Clean up sink elsewhere.

I'll just add, I hate split levels with kids.

Split it DATED. ..........no please. No to any sink unless a prep size, unless your island is 4' x 8. No splash and mess occurs here. This is why god made the dishwasher, Regular sized sink on 4 x 8....below

No split! We have a 4' x 9' island with a big offset sink.
