There seems to be certain things some cats like to chew on. Had a kitty that liked to chew on plastic grocery store bags. DF has a kitty that chews on electrical cords, so she keeps them in cord holders or wrapped in aluminum foil.

It's pretty annoying, and I imagine it's dangerous for him. He hasn't ruined a cable yet, but I did have to coat his favorite one in toothpaste for a while. The punctures in my purse straps are unattractive, but they're not too noticeable. At least he's not chewing on the body of the purse.
I did find some cat chewies on amazon, so I think I will give them a try. Maybe we will leave them near the charging station so we can redirect him easily.

DF uses something like this. Please let us know if the chewies work.

Sheba was giving away free cat treats in stick form. Looks like a dog chew only softer. I laid one on the ground next to my cat, looked away...looked back....it was gone! He'd swallowed it whole! You might want to supervise the new chew treat when you give it to him. (I had NO idea he'd eat something like that whole....could be a problem)

This is what I got him. While he does chew on them a bit, he is still chewing on other stuff. I actually made him an appointment for tomorrow. I am thinking maybe he needs dental work. In addition to chewing on firm materials with some give (like silicone), he seems hungry but isn't eating as much as normal. I'm wondering if maybe his mouth hurts. He's also trying to drink out of everything, even though his water is full, and he has been throwing up a little liquid here and there. He's around 8yo, so he's certainly not elderly. We'll see what they say tomorrow. I fear the bill from a dental cleaning, but I will not be surprised if that's what they say he needs.
