Does this space already exist? In other words, is it already built, and if it is pics would be helpful.

Hello, I could suggest a few popular quartz colors. Can you advise which brands you are looking at as there are so many different quartz manufactures and I'm not sure of which are the most popular in your area.

If you are thinking dark counters, I think there is a "soapstone look" quartz.

Just FYI, my apron front sink is the Kohler Whitehaven "short apron" style sink which can be installed on a standard sink base cabinet. It does have a shorter apron - almost reminds me more of the vintage cast iron sinks - so be sure you like that look if you consider that kind of sink.

I am mainly looking at Lowe’s since we live in rural area. I am interested in either the silestone product or the recycled quartz with the “shimmery” glass flecks in it- possibly the cream color. This is what I currently have. Excuse the mess! We are moving the cabinets on wall higher, placing a tile backsplash with pot faucet. Also, new stove & micro in stainless or slate. I am keeping cabinets, but would like to update countertops as they are laminate now. Having trouble deciding on quartz counter color, pattern. I want things to feel updates & not similar to what I already have. Any help would be appreciated.

My other thought was... painting the cabinets in a off white or cream color but I don’t want to ruin the cabinets. Would painting with a sherwin Williams self leveling paint make the cabinets look “cheap”? Or ruin them.

If you paint the cabinets do then in a pure WHITE not a cream or off white. They will look fresh and crisp. White cabinets are a HUGE trend right now and always classic. Looks like there is not much natural light in your kitchen so white cabinets would make it much brighter.

Don't paint your cabinets. They are just fine.

Your wood cabinets look good.

For farmhouse type of styling, one nice look with wood cabinets is to go darker on hardware.

You could go light or darker in your space with countertops, but I think your idea of going light is great - and light looks good and works in your space. Hopefully there are some ideas in pics above.

And I can't see your ceiling light fixture very well - but you could always change that to something more rustic, more farmhouse, etc.. just to add to the look; changing a light can give a space a whole new ambience, and dimmable light fixtures are good. And I know you have recessed lighting, don't know that you 'need' pendants over the counter, but adding some pendants over counter might be another option to bring in a new feel and design interest for the space, as well.

I deleted part of my post, because I just noticed your comment and see that you are already getting stainless, new faucet, etc. I should have read through the comments before I posted... reading is fundamental! ;)

While your cabinets are very nice but I do not know if the wood is really lending to the "farmhouse" look you are wanting. You will notice that in all the above photos from freedomplace1 most farmhouse designs that use stained cabinets have a lot of grain in the wood,

this is what gives them that rustic farmhouse look. I think you might get more of the look you are going for by painting them and adding a few farmhouse features with an apron sink or a rustic light. For the counter you might want to avoid the “shimmery” glass flecks and go with a darker counter for a bit of contrast since everything else is so light.

Consider doing a stainless hood and just getting a small microwave for the counter - perhaps the small counter to the right of the doorway. I don't see pot fillers when there is a microwave / hood - there is often not enough space. Don't put the cabinets so high that they cannot be comfortably reached.
