Yes I did:) They are pretty much the same tone as before - they were a pretty wood tone to start with but the finish especially around the knobs and some of the drawer fronts was showing wear and I did not want to put new counters on worn cabinets so I decided to refinish them. I have done refinishing projects before so I knew what to do. It was very time consuming but I don't have many cabinets - the blessing of a small kitchen:) I did not do the island or pie safe. Those were purchased at a local Amish store and are in great shape still. I also bought an unfinished wood hood with vent insert and finished it to match. One of the good things about oak is that there is slight variation in wood tones of the different boards - easier to get a new piece to blend.

The countertop is LG Viatera White Pearl quartz. You should be able to get it through any kitchen and bath store that sells LG Viatera quartz. It is also sold under the name "Flaked Pearl" by Menards - which is actually where I bought mine, but the LG Viatera label was on the sample piece and also the underside of the counter when it arrived. I wanted to order it through a kitchen and bath store but at that time none carried it in my area, but one does now. I'm in a smallish city with not many kitchen and bath stores. Menards does not measure or install, so I had to find my own installer - which I did, but a kitchen and bath store takes care of that for you and I think the overall cost was comparable. The sample piece may seem busy, but when you step back the colors work together and blend so that it does not overwhelm. It does look good with oak - perhaps because it does have a "marble" look and marble was often used as a top on oak washstands - so it is a slightly vintage look which is what I was aiming for.
