If you want a medicine cabinet with enough shelving, I would get an extra wide one to extend past the sink. I'd also consider using a clear or frosted shower curtain because there doesn't seem to be enough lighting in the room in that area. I think you need more lighting somehow. Changing anything in a rental is different than your own home and you might want to see if the owner would pay for the needed bathroom cabinet.
