I am not familiar with either countertop, but my countertop on my wood cabinets is somewhat busy like the Pulsar, and it is not too busy. I did a very simple subway tile backsplash.

Countertops with a large pattern can be hard to match the pattern at seams causing the seam to be more apparent - just something to keep in mind. Sometimes more of a slab needs to be purchased to make the large pattern match even a little. My seam on my slightly busy, but smaller pattern countertop barely shows.

The only problem with my pattern is it hides crumbs and spills almost too well.

The Eternal Calacatta Gold is beautiful installed and [several houzzers have used it[(https://www.houzz.com/discussions/silestone-calacatta-gold-dsvw-vd~4838333), so you can get feedback if you look for it. It will also be easier to find a backsplash that you’ll like with Gold vs Pulsar. I do like satin brass with dark cabinets. Congrats on your cabinet choice!

Corine, I see your silestone sample here is that Pulsar? If so I don’t see any of the gold colors in it. I just ordered a sample as well from Cosentino. Hopefully mine will be a better representation.

m going to go with an MSI brand and color called Calcutta Valentin. And use it for the backsplash too.
