Tv mount is missing a piece

The locking L brackets were installed wrong. Both were under the hex nut like the one on the right. They ar now both like the left one. Is the black locking hex keyed block on the left absolutely necessary?

there are 4 on top and 4 on bottom. So 7 of 8 are there. I don't think it is critical to dig up some? Actually each piece has a front/rear so there are 16 separate chunks. This mount is a monster. Weighs 66 lbs.
