This year, we have had some freeze which led to some good and bad. Most of my mangoes were very hard hit. Only one of them seems to be coming back. Longans were also hit badly--top half badly damaged.

But, surprise, surprise, all my lychees did relatively well--with only some brown tips. I tip some of the burnt ones off and all of them seem to be flushing right now. The 6 lychees that were planted in the ground used to bloom on alternate year, but now it seems all of them are beginning to bloom this year. Maybe it's too early to tell, but 3 of them are showing flower spikes now. They re my Brewster, Hak Ip and Sweet Heart. I'm surprised that my lychees have outperformed my longans. I got three of the longans in the ground, but they are prone to mealy bugs infestation and I just discovered they're not as cold hardly as the lychees. I used to think they're more cold hardy, but not now.
