NSC6 is right, the four chairs are so crowded no one could actually sit there. Why not move 2 to another room? Then move the table farther from the back wall and close to the left wall, with the two chairs facing each other. Move the tall vase someplace else too, put a low bowl on the table so the diners can see each other without peeking around the flowers.

Then add some color!

Center piece should be something low - bow of fruit, etc. Remove garbage can. Get an under sink bucket. Then art. Which wall, depends how the table/chairs end up being placed.

Ideally for such a tight space a bar height or counter height table will work better and look better........then 2 stools kitty corner to each other.

But of course you should use what you have already. Higher table set up needs less space. For art work why not blow up a photo from your travels. I have also seen Japanese wrapping paper framed, nice and very cheap to do.

agree to removal of tall vase and relocate or change garbage can as Angel suggested.. Leave table blank if you are going to have wall art. You can also take a very close up photo of your favourite flower, blow up and turn into artwork at your local photo shop.

What others said. Wall are is least of concern now. The space is too crowded. Remove vase and two chairs. Pull table away from wall. When you do hang artwork, make is simple, and light colors or else this corner will feel very claustrophobic.

The corner might be a good spot for banquet seating and with only 2 chairs. Banquet seating is great for smaller places and a nice way to bring color and texture to a kitchen area. I agree with the comments to moving the trash can to another location, preferably under the sink.
