Generally, you will find only two in area nurseries: 'Goldcrest' and 'Wilma' (often incorrectly labeled as 'Wilma Goldcrest'). 'Goldcrest' is the parent plant from which 'Wilma' was discovered as a broom. It is a taller, squattier and more openly branched tree, whereas 'Wilma' is very tightly columnar. Color on both is very similar. Rather than gold, I'd call it chartreuse - in full sun they are an almost neon, lime green color.

Now and again you can find 'Donard Gold' but it very closely resembles Goldcrest in size and habit - I think you'd be hard pressed to tell them apart :-)

The older (1948) 'Goldcrest' is "One of the best of its color" (2014 Hillier manual) but I seldom see it offered here these days. However as it happens there were some 5 gallon plants at Swanson's recently. 'Donard Gold' is even older (1935) but is supposed to be deep yellow. I think I saw stock labeled as that one in "5's" at Sky last year, with Monrovia cards on the plants (see at link, below). 'Wilma' (unlike the preceding two) being small-growing perhaps has a lot to do with it becoming by far the dominant one in the marketplace here. Nevertheless all may be expected to have problems with hard frosts and damp snow loads this far north - the only yellow Monterey cypress planting I have seen in person in the Seattle area that looked to have any serious time behind it was one that may consist of 'Donard Gold', was 24 1/2 ft. tall in 2005. (A 'Fine Gold' elsewhere in Seattle, known to have been in place by 1999 was 20 ft. tall during the same year).

Today I observed that Sky (185th & Aurora) has in addition to the now ubiquitous 'Wilma' in 4 in. pots a lesser number of 'Gold-crest' in the same small inexpensive size also.
