In the middle of master bath remodel, trying to decide if this granite is a good match with floor etc. Wall behind vanity will be tiled in white subway. Vanity will be white same as trim in photo. Please help me decide! Thank you!

Looks great! I think I've seen the same granite in a mountain lodge near my home and I've always admired it. Beautiful!

It is nice, but wonder if something more solid - maybe a gray from the floor.

I'm not a huge fan of that granite personally, but IMO it plays nicely with your other materials. If you like it, go for it!

I don't really like that granite with the floor. Not awful, but not quite right.

Just my own opinion (I worked in the shelter press for a long time), that granite is geting passe in design driven markets. More important, does not make a great combo with the other elements....Floor looks gorgeous Are you set on granite, and if so, why?? Might you look at Quartz, or Corian, or another granite pattern. This one screams Home Depot, lowest category. Myself,I would take a look at sold white surfaces, be they Corian, or one of the Quartzes, or marble if you want to go that way... Don't get me wrong, your choice is not bad, but it is not fashion forward..it will look like a million other kitchens. and will end up tied to its era..I would not want that, but you might..

I have to agree with eckscrunchy on every point made. Although this isn’t a bad granite, I think paired with the floor could potentially get busy. Also granite really is getting played and you would be tied to that era as stated above. These materials are not terrible but if there are other options, I would look into them. Please let us know what you decide. I’m curious. :)

Ekscrunchy, it’s not for kitchen but master bathroom dual vanities. I appreciate your comments. Husband did the floors, he’s a genius perfectionist, lucky me! I had planned on a quartz similar to concrete. But after pricing cambria carrick at $2800 and another brand (which doesn’t get good reviews) at $1400, I decided to look at the local granite yard for a remnant. We only need 17.5 sq feet. Even Lowe’s requires 25sq purchase on their quartz. Hubby said he’d attempt real concrete but even though I love the look, it will take him forever.....and I don’t know if I will still like it as much after it’s been used awhile. This granite is only $700 fabricated and installed. If it gets dated then I can change it and not feel to guilty about the cost. If he does the concrete and I hate it in a few years , I’d be reluctant to remove it knowing how much time he’d have in it.

I'm finding that in the last few years on GW/Houzz, "fashion forward" means everyone's kitchens and baths are a carbon copy of each other and that's what's gotten boring. More often than not, I'll open a thread to look at a kitchen reveal and close it after seeing the first photo.

^^^ I agree. I posted in another thread that I am "over" the marble look of everything. And quartz in a lot of instances. And especially 'marble look quartz!'

I think that this is a nice textural look and CANNOT BE BEAT for the price and overall durability. And it compliments the floor.

I like it!

To me it has a cottage or beach vibe, as does the floor, and your white vanity and subway tile will complete the look.

Everyone, thank you for helping me decide. Most on here seem to think it works with my other materials so I’m going with the granite. I think it’s beautiful and perfect for the budget.

It is a perfectly fine granite, and goes great with Melissa's other gray elements in her bathroom.

I just don't think it goes great with the floor used by the OP.

I had this granite in my previous house (was there when we bought it) and it was a durable counter that didn't need any special treatment.

I love the texture variation mixed with the other elements. My only question is if the color is spot on. Does it have the same warm colors that is in the floor?

When you stray from white and marble in tile and counter, it's very hard to find the perfect match in counter and floor. Beautiul4life's floor is installed so now her selections for countertop are limited, and her budget limits her choices too.

We have sheet vinyl flooring and can only use LVT tile for replacement, and there aren't as many choices in LVT as there are in ceramic tiles. In my guest bath remodel, I tried to go as neutral as possible with the floor because so much of LVT has a fake stone look. I also didn't want to pay for an entire slab for a 36" vanity, so we picked the closest match we could find from the remnants. We just don't have the remnant selection here that other people seem to have so after looking for several months, we settled. I am sensitive to color and I see that the counter is slightly warmer than the floor, but we had guests coming and needed to get it done.
In our master bath remodel in progress, we have the same situation. Quotes for slabs or half slabs of quartz start at $1600, and that's for a 60" vanity. So much would go unused. As of now, we have settled for a remnant of Alaskan White granite for $1300 and are selecting floor, but I expect we'll have to pick the best match, not the perfect match.

If you have a Floor and Decor store, they sell slabs of quartz and granite at pretty reasonable prices that are already finished.

No floor and decor near me. My his and her vanities are 53” wide. Not standard size.

They come in long lengths and you cut, but standard counter depth.

Enduring thank you! I thought it matched, just wanted other opinions. My only concern was I didn’t want anything too busy. But the more I look at this granite the more I like it. Yes the whites match perfect too.

I think it adds interest. It adds texture. We combine patterns with textiles successfully, I like seeing it with other features too. I mixed a strong rather dark stone look porcelain floor tile with my wall porcelain fake marble. I love the way it looks. This was 5 years ago and the tile lady at the shop was rather stunned that I would mix the two. I ignored her. I still love it. The question that really hits at the issue for me, is asking "does it sing!". When I see the picture you posted to me, 3 hours ago, I say "yes". I love the look of Melissa's too, with her marble.

Be sure to look at the tile and granite in the evening too with artificial lighting as a last check, imo that would be helpful. Your first picture looks good too, as long as the colors are a ringer.

I had that exact granite in my previous kitchen (was there when we bought the house) and I hated it... it never looked right but my neighbor has it in his kitchen and it looks fantastic! LOL! I LOVE the way it looks in your bathroom!
Just an FYI though... I managed to stain that granite, so make sure you use a sealer periodically. (I didn't know if/when it had last been sealed, but I just know I managed to stain it with something orange, I'm not even sure what it was.)

It's funny that Mayflowers thinks it feels beachy. It's high mountainsy to me--it really does look like the stone the Sierra Nevada are made out of. It's interesting how one's upbringing affects how these things feel to us. To me, it's quintessential granite. I was probably 30 before I knew granite could look different from that!

I don't ever think about where the stone is from. The overall look of the floor, white vanity and tile is what I was looking at. My idea of a mountain look would be stained wood cabinets and stone backsplash with a dark counter.

I think it looks great color-wise, combined with the other elements of the room.

But the various responses here show how personal this decision is...to me, this granite looks like one of the lower-category HD granites I've seen a million times in tract houses. The granites I like tend to have more movement, rather than speckles. BUT: What does it really matter what I like, for your bathroom. Think of it that way. I bet a lot of people here would not like at all the stuff I chose for my own rooms!! The great thing is that you will have a bathroom that you love, no matter what I think, or what anyone else thinks!!

I honestly think it MAY work with your flooring since the flooring color is just perfect and versatile. The contrast would be perfect. But if you can, you should choose something less busy? It looks good but you might get bored with it fast.
