Kahlanchoe and Christmas Cactus sharing a pot that gets direct sun only a couple of hours a day. I must appear to my neighbors to be a watering freak when I sprinkle it well almost every day. Had these a few years.

I have a Meyer Lemon under a Live Oak that looks good and produces lemons. I didn't plant it there nor would I but it appears happy.

I've learned long ago never to take those plant labels to heart.

What I usually do when I get a new plant that I'm inexperienced with is place the pot in a position where I think the plant would do very well and monitor it for any signs of stress.

If it shows any signs of being unhappy , I move it elsewhere till it seems happy and only then will I actually plant it in the ground. Very often it ends up in a position very different from what's indicated on the label.

For 2 Years I planted from seed dill in pots and they never came up. Thinking that I had bad seed I just tossed what was left of the packs in the grass and intended to get new seed. in a few weeks I noticed dill growing in the grass since then it has come back every spring by it self but dies when it gets to hot. I happily harvest some every year.
