Design Dilemma Lighting

Stairwell Lighting

We are replacing the ceiling light with a hanging pendant or small chandelier. We are also planning to paint the space a light neutral. I'm struggling to find a pendant that I love. I'm not sure which direction to go. The picture was taken at the top of the stairs. The stock photos are just some pendant shapes that I am leaning to. Thanks!

Will you keep the sconces on the landing on either side of the window? If so, go with something that complements them (so stay away from crystal). If not, then I think you're wide open; it would help to know what your overall design aesthetic is.

Thanks Peter. We plan on keeping the sconces, I'm not sure if crystal can be incorporated into our home's overall look anyways. Thanks for the input!

If you select a pendant with candelabra bulbs, you'll be up on a ladder all the time to change out the bulbs. Is that what you have planned?

I am not worried about getting up on a ladder. The candelabra look is not out of the question, but is definitely not on top of my list either.
