One other thing I wanted to suggest: Swap out the curtains for a Roman blind. They really add a clean and tailored element to a bath.

Paint in a more cheerful color $100. New shower curtain $30. All new towels $100. Don't repaint the cultured marble countertop, paint won't stick to it.

Gray is trending out in some areas. I'd return the gray LVT because it will certainly be out of fashion in 3-5 years in many areas.

I still love the gray and also like SW "Urbane Bronze" for the vanity. Both look great with brushed nickel or a gold tone for something different. Agree that your counter and floor are fine from what we can see. Do the vanity, shower curtain and change the knobs/pulls first.

I would invest in a killer grey or white vanity/stone top and paint the whole room white and call it good for resale down the road.... oh and yes, frame the mirror.

I would put in the LVP, leave the top, add a roman shade instead of the short curtains, replace the shower curtain with something lighter, and add a comfort height, elongated bowl toilet with a concealed trapway.

I would also eliminate all the small rugs and add a pretty runner the length of the vanity. (Something in an indoor/outdoor so it dries quickly and is easy to keep clean).

You could go up the paint chip a few shades for a vanity color.

Don’t paint a vanity top. You just guaranteed replacing it sooner rather than later. That means the mirror too.

That’s a big top, and even in a remnant, you’d be looking at $1200 or do to change it out. But that, and a new mirror and new lighting is the best transformation that the room can have. The nickel stuff will hold for now, but you’re not getting “updated” without the top and mirror changing.

Keep saving. And paint the walls and add a shower curtain in the mean time. Not that floor. It’s pretty awfully obviously fake. And gray. It’s terrible. If you want to do the floor? Something more natural and less fake is needed. Learn to tile. Slate tile would be great.

Does everyone feel that strongly about the LVT? My wife hates the yellow sheet vinyl in there now. I wouldn’t mind tiling but don’t want to take the vanity out to tile under.

Painting the "cultured marble" countertop would be a waste of time and effort.

I would also raise the shower curtain bar, perhaps one that screws into the wall. Framing the existing mirror will work, but so would replacing it with a single framed mirror directly over the sink in and replacing your overhead lighting with sconces on either side of the mirror. Good luck!

Good vinyl isn’t hated. That isn’t good vinyl. It has an awful splotchy repeat pattern that screams fake. And it’s in an unnatural color. Gray floors are already over their 15 minutes. With gray walls soon to follow. A natural looking wood tone with no splotches and a much wider variety of repeat pattern would be fine. No splotches.

I would suggest that you replace the light fixture over the mirror. Since you don't want to spend much money, spend the rest of your budget on a new shower curtains, simple window treatment, and towels.

If you want to use a vinyl plank, why not use something that looks like you would find it in a bathroom? This LVP is 12x24 and looks like stone.

I'd replace the vanity and the flooring first. You can order custom frames for the mirror on line or glue trim yourself. What size is the vanity? You could do two sinks.

For resale, neutralize the paint color. Update the light, hardware pulls and handles (on closet too.) Roman shades and a long runner style bathmat will make a difference in the choppiness of the space. Not sure I'm on board with your flooring choice. A 2-sink vanity will be a selling point.

If you wanted to tile without removing the current vanity, buy enough extra tile that a new owner could use it for repairs to once that vanity is removed.
