Volunteer Tomatoes - yay!

Serendipity!

I have several healthy tomato plants that sprouted up after I moved my compost heap back in September, after the storm. Some are sprouting from the new pile, while others are growing from the old location. All are looking large and healthy and I've already harvested about half a dozen from one of them - A couple of plants are bearing ribbed fruits that look a lot like the Tomande I usually grow, but w/ more green on the skin. Quite tasty, considering they've been pretty much neglected except for some supports to keep them off the ground. There's also a grape tomato plant.

This 1 looks like it make be from store bought plum tomatoes. It's growing out of the side of my compost pile...

Very happy because I've not had time to start seeds and Mother Nature generously did it for me.
