Thank you for your interest in our French Oak Unfinished Engineered wood floor. To answer your questions:

1. Yes, this floor is both California CARB II & Lacey Act compliant. Of note, this floor is also constructed with wood sourced by the Forest Stewardship Council.

2. To replicate the traditional "old world" style of this type of flooring, our French Oak engineered floors feature character grade wood. Below I will include some images of a recent install so that you can have an idea of the variation.

3. Not sure what image you're referring to (possibly our 1/2" thick version which does feature a 3mm wear layer?), but our 5/8" version does come equipped with a 4mm wear layer; allowing the floor to be re-sanded/re-finished up to 3x over its lifetime. Each plank features a 9-ply construction; the top layer being 4mm thick.
