I completely agree with Sina. Black appliances can suck up light and become black holes. My guess is you'll be very happy with stainless...lighter, brighter and neutral.

The stainless wall ovens are lovely. My preference would be the stainless handle on the dishwasher, but the black would be fine, too. As Sina said, replacing the fridge later is an option.

Are you really thinking about paying $6k for a double oven? As someone who's seen this time and time again, go for a separate oven and a microwave instead of a twofer. The microwave quits first and all you have to do is replace that instead of having to buy another double oven.

If you add satin nickel cup pulls to your drawers, you may want to change the knobs on the cabinet doors to a satin nickel knob. Here are a few ideas to get you started!

Odd man out. I love your kitchen just the way it is and think the cabinet/ black appliance contrast is very attractive. I'd stick with black appliances but wouldn't add black hardware. Nickel would be fine if you're dying for a change.

If you want to brighten, paint the walls and buy new stools that showcase the new color. A soft turquoise like Quiet Moments might be one to try. Or a rich off white.

Stainless steel is a good way to go, but you don't have to change them all at once. Do what you can, when you can.
