All the links you showing are top of the line hardware. I used Accurate Pocket Door Lock on one job they wanted a self-latching lock, and this was the best lock I've seen for a pocket door and of course, the price comes with it. Kepp in mind, they had solid doors and they already came prepped with the lock specs, so if you have a basic hollow door someone will have to cut them in and I'm not sure how these locks perform in the hollow door.

You don't come across locks like this too often, not many will spring for $150-500 per lock + $125-150 to install them.

Happy day..I have two pocket doors and I would like good handle sets as well so watching your thread. I wonder about the Emtec. I don't think this looks "modern" as it's labeled. Emtec is generally nice stuff.

I stopped at a Hardware store today, and was able to take a look at accurate and also Emtek. The Emtek product code 2115 seemed pretty good to me. It has a pop out handle and the turn lock seemed pretty easy to use. They also had accurate, but for my purposes I did not see much advantage to that. It’s quite a bit more expensive. I’m mainly looking for something that small hands are able to use more easily than the little turn nibs you usually see on pocket doors!

First, you will be satisfied with the Johnson door kits; I wouldn't use anything else.

Second, I'm a fan of quality hardware, but in my opinion the links you've shown are way over the top in terms of what you need to spend. It's your money, but for that kind of dough I'd prefer to spend that money on a nice dishwasher.

I like simple, reliable, minimalist hardware. I have four solid core doors in my house for the bath/powder rooms.

In the open position, two of my doors stick out about 2", so I was able to use a surface mounted handle:

For the two doors that go all the way into the pocket, I used a basic edge pull:

It is hidden when the door is open and, when you close the door, you just pop it out and it rests against the frame, blocking the door from being slid open.

I'm not a cheapskate, but I've found after many years of remodeling that simpler is sometimes better. I previously used fancier locks on pocket doors in another house and found that, over time, the slightest amount of settling or seasonal expansion/contraction of the wood can cause some of the more expensive locks to not quite catch, and need periodic adjustment.

We made our pocket door 36" wide with a stop so that it does not close flush and surface-mounted door pulls back-to-back. No privacy function needed. Did not want to bother with fiddly little flush and edge pulls.

We did go with the Emtek. We also used soft close and soft open on our pocket doors which is is nice feature.

I haven’t seen the Emtek pocket door hardware, but I had some Emtek lever door handles and they were terrible. The lever was floppy and would not stay level. The whole mechanism was just loose and felt cheap. There is a small set screw to retain the lever on the spindle, and once the lever is removed, the lever cannot be replaced securely because the spindle is soft metal and partially hollow, and the set screw hogs out a hole in the spindle.

I have never seen a worse spindle. One spindle I had twisted and broke when a guest torqued the handle.

My entire house now has INOX lever door handles by Unison Hardware. Solid stainless steel. The mechanism is awesome and feels great when operated.

Pocket doors that are "normally open" work fine with the push button-pop out pulls but not for bathrooms and other "normally closed" doors. For that condition I use a "pullman" door. Its essentially a 35" door in a 35" opening with a 30" pocket (or a 36" door in a 36" opening with a custom pocket). Like the earlier photo, 5" (or less) of the door is still showing when open (the width of the stile of a paneled door) and can have pulls each side. I've even seen one in a hotel bathroom.

@Illhhi who may I ask manufactured your pocket door hardware? Does it lock? I have three pocket doors, one of which I need to lock (powder room) so am interested!
