Bob, those look great! What are the trees and how did you graft those? My cleft grafts are still green after five days...should I dare to hope?

How do you do that? How does anyone do that? Amazing

Did about 20grafts a couple of weeks ago or so. Some rootstock has 3 grafts on. I also got a stick of Thong Dee pomelo, long enough to make 3 grafts and they are also looking good. Did 3 kinds of grafts, cleft, modify bark graft and a few side grafts, use rubberbands first than parafilm. The row of buckets are filled with rainwater and are used to raise the containers closer towards the lights. Each one hold a new tree.The figtree’s are in the shop because I had to graft a few varieties on them, they were growing in th shop because it is more warmer and they need to come out dormancy to graft. Way in the back are a Jaboticaba and a Atemoya tree, they are kind of large tree’s. Concrete floors transfer cool temps so that why I raise my containers of the floor too with dollies.

What kind of multi-graft is that in the top pic?

Those are both Shasta Gold mandarins.

Bob, the rehab centre looks wonderful :) they are all in good hands :)

The center is not taken any new patients, I got the best varieties I want, there are more of the same out there and they differ not by much. It is nice if you have stuff to trade, you be surprise of what is out there.

Sorry, I am not as rich as you guys are to buy stock. The roll I bought is 2 inches wide,which I cut in 1 inch strips or 3ways for smaller stuff and about 5 inches long. That role would last me a life time. I am frugal, which is not excepted here on this forum, some members known me as being cheap. Not bad for what I am doing. Walmart probably hate’s me for being cheaper then they are! That roll will make me about 1800 new tree’s, just think the money I save, I can built an orchard for $ 36.00., which I already have finish.

Bob, I am all for being frugal, I don't buy parafilm because I don't want to waste money on things that are not important. Grafting can be done perfectly without parafilm, I am very careful, whom I vote for with my money and why :))

I got some top quality budwood of mandarin and some others that i wanted in the worst way, got enough to make 20 grafts. The funny part is that the stuff i got don't even came from these forum members. There is only one person that has offer budwood but then that person is also a good friend of mine, outside the forum too.

Waiting for my next scalding....

Bob, what do you use for rootstock?

This is a long story, years ago i bought a bunch of seeds from a reliable forum member, old citrus forum, and the seedlings were growing pretty good, than they told me it would take 8 to 10 years before you see any fruits, can't wait that long.

Here is my seedling collection: Varigated Sour orange, Miyagawa, Juanita, Changsou, and Flying Dragon. They are nice looking tree's but i had to wack'm and grafted budwood from tree's that had fruit on already. The 3 Thong Dee pomelo's are all grafted on Flying Dragon, hopefully this will work(got faith). Since this is the end of the collection that i want and can handle. I will say that most are grafted on Varigated Sour Orange because i had quite a bit of them.

No,I don’t, I have two S/T and two Meyers. I am not a lemon guy,mandarins yes!

Bob, the NZL are not like regular lemons - they’re tart and sweet - like lemonade. I think you might like them. I’ll PM you :)
