i got to tell you.. in my MI ... where the last frost date is mid may ... these shows are ridiculously dangerous ... lol ...

the money i have spent between such a show.. and garden time could be incredible.. lol ...

Junco, they are known for being touchy. I put them in pots the first year to be enjoyed up close near my doorway and then out in the garden in my sunniest areas. I've had the common unnamed variety come back each year (3-4 years) in sunniest areas, but none returned in the shade.

Thank you for the tour! Love the variety. Ours often can get a bit boring, with the emphasis mainly (or ONLY) on spring bulbs. Yes tulips and daffs everywhere - yes, we get the point...

I personally like variety- more of the less known stuff. There's sometimes a display or two that shows something different than tulips, purple muscari and daffodils, but rather rare. That was what made the lily of the valley so refreshing. The competition area is the place to see the more rare items. I do spend a good allotment of time there, but pictures of lone plants in pots is less impressive, ;)

We have "Garden Shows" here in my area which have evolved into displays of home remodeling companies showing their wares, hot tubs, tractors, and then flower beds staged by a couple local garden clubs. Would love to go to a real flower show.

Love the lily of the valley pic. Now I can't wait - it's among my favorites. It can't spread fast enough for me.
