Frostbit, now what?

We are in an inland valley in northern San Diego county. Over the past month we have had several nights around 28°. I covered succulents and with a few exceptions, they are fine. However, my 3 year old westringia "Morning Light" shrubs are not fine. Ones planted in full sun look grey/purple. (plants under trees are normal color) Do you think they will snap out of it? If they don't, how much should be pruned and when? thx!

Wait until you are sure frost can't happen again. If you prune it now new growth may appear and could get frosted again. I have one salvia that gets darker almost purple, its normally gray. I don't prune that one, but do have other frost damage and clearly are dead leaves etc and I am waiting 2 more weeks even though anymore frost would be late in the season for it. I once had the purple Lantana and the first frost would turn it purple and more frosts would turn it black so it got pruned every year of course. I'm in NW LA county. Yours might be fine. Two websites state its hardy to 20-25. I would let it be for couple more weeks. Rain next weekend is to be cold from the arctic.
