I like the Alpine Mist better, but they're both nice. Just for me, the spidery lines of Pearl Jasmine are a look I don't like.

I think the Pearl Jasmine is a nice choice to pull your other surfaces together. Can't make a recommendation of Caesarstone vs Silestone. Maybe someone else will. I've heard some bad rap on both here at Houzz.

Leaning toward the Pearl Jasmine.

Alpine mist appears soothing & less busy. It's soft color tone softens a harsh contrast black& white kitchen scheme. I might like the other only if the vein/grain was softer.

You can't go wrong with either choice. Both will look nice.

Both are nice, but I like the Alpine Mist. It compliments the oak floor as well as the black and white. It appears much warmer.

I've never been a fan of busy speckly granite, so I would go with quartz, and prefer the Alpine Mist.

If you want contrast between the cabinets and the counter tops, then might I suggest looking at a darker colored quartz? This way the white subway tile would look nice. Or have the contrast between the cabinets/counter tops and the backsplash--you could do the b/s in a different color or shape. Fireclay tile has some wonderful colors, shapes and textures.

Pearl Jasmine for sure.

Eternal Pearl Jasmine Gorgeous!!! Pearl Jasmine will give your husband a bit of drama like the granite he loves but give you a bit of calm peace without being tooo boring. My vote is Eternal Pearl Jasmine.

I would love to see photos of a Pearl Jasmine slab or finished kitchen if you ended up choosing this! We are about to order this for our Kitchen.

I think I would go with something with more color in it. Do you have another color in your house that could create a nice contrast in your kitchen? I would definitely NOT go with granite even though a lot of people like it. Granite requires a lot more upkeep than quartz. I've even heard of people leaving a stick of butter (in the waxy/paper wrapping) on the counter only to find that it melted and went right through the countertop into the drawer below.

You can watch for a Home Depot sale on the silestone. I got mine around this time last year and got 20% off. Te only problem is you need to go to the store to see what the weekly special is, it's not in their flyer. The same counter from a local dealer was almost double the price of Home Depot, Lowe's wouldn't even match the price.
