Living room furniture help

Hi everyone, I am new to Houzz. Just bought a house and painted the living room light gray (pics attached). We have gray sofa and the TV will be mounted above the gray cabinet. I don't want too much gray (I think there is plenty right now) so I purchased the red chair (pic attached) for a pop of color and I think I'm going to put it below the banister on the wall facing the TV. Will also add some plants for some warmth. Trying to figure out where to put another chair and what type to get. My house is very traditional, but my style is more eclectic I think - I like contemporary but I love adding some mid-century modern and antique pieces. I was eyeing this leather chair from West Elm (the brown picture attached) - would that look okay? Or would it look mismatched? I don't want too matchy matchy.

Also, for above the sofa I am deciding between a big piece of art or a gallery wall. I want my home to feel warm and inviting but I also don't like clutter and I know some gallery walls can look that way. I was looking at ordering a set from Artfully Walls or picking my own prints and doing it similarly (I like the set attached in the pics). I definitely want some color.

Lastly, I'm also struggling to pull the trigger on a coffee table. I like this one from Wayfair...still not sure yet https://www.wayfair.com/furniture/pdp/langley-street-erin-coffee-table-lgly4848.html

Oooooh, you need to rework the furniture arrangement.

Take a look at this arrangement for your room. I love the cabinet you purchased, but I would keep that right where it is and place art above and two buffet lamps. I would purchase a wall mounted floating cabinet for the TV by the stair. Move the sofa as noted on the plan and add two chairs that swivel and rock because they are so very soothing to sit in. I think you need to turn the rug

lovely home. please bring your sofa closer in to tv and fireplace. the red chair and the leather are nice, i see no problem with putting them in the room together. all should have their front feet at least on the rug. I dislike wayfair, they often up the prices they get on leftovers. there are many places where we can get great merchandise and not pay near that price.

I know you do not like matchy matchy, but I do not really like that white in your room. it seems to cheapen it to me. i have 2 ideas, apparently you do not need the extra funds, but you can find some cool tables at estate sales, etc. something more like these maybe?

I like your ideas for color and your eclectic aesthetic. I also really like the introduction of some leather in this room.

I must encourage you to do your research on leather and reclining mechanisms because they are not all created equally. While I really like the styles that West Elm has to offer, their furniture does not have a reputation for quality. So, be sure to ask questions before you purchase.

I think a thoughtfully composed gallery wall above your sofa would be great. A nice place to look for art is minted. They've got some pieces there I think you'll really like.

My honest opinion is I think you're a little all over the place. I would stop and get some advice from someone with decorating taste before you spend any more money. It's looking pretty hodge-podgey to me. And do not do a gallery wall.

other options for art besides there are etsy and saatchi art, best of course is support your local artists. Believe me, what you are willing to spend allows you to have original and quality. I would say copy that pattern if you want. i will show you some other ways i have collected that are pretty much super easy. Keeping matting and frames the same color allow a lot of leeway.

Thank you everyone for the feedback. Livingfun, I love those inspiration pics, especially the first one. Beverly, I didn't even think of changing the layout. I think that's a really good idea. I will rearrange the furniture and see how it looks. The sellers had it staged with the sofa facing the fireplace so that's how I've imagined it, I definitely need to open my mind! Thanks!
