Personally I don't find anything particularly dated about your house. Your house may not be right on trend, but I would say that is a good thing, because it has classic lines rooted in the styles of historic American homes which I don't think will ever go out of style. Your portico is the defining feature of your house, and I can't really imagine it without it. Unless you are especially bothered by your portico, I would replace the columns in kind.
