Retro fit window question

We have remodeled our bathroom and the window is not tempered so it must be replaced to pass inspection. We ultimately want to replace all the windows in our 30 year old home (at some point) but we are going to start with the three bathroom windows. We are looking at a retro fit using Anlin Windows which are used here in California. Our house is stucco so a retro fit will not only cost less but also damage the stucco less. I am concerned about the 2.5 inches of glass area we will lose with this retro fit rather than the 1 inch framing we have now. Any thoughts on Anlin Windows would be appreciated and do all retro fit windows take up so much of the glass? Thanks.
