You are painting the cabinets? Why?

Leave the cabinets as is. Paint the kitchen wall the color of the countertop. Looks like Divine White would be a better choice (on my monitor).

Dining room: you need a blue, not aqua.

Remove the phoney chair rail.

I strongly suggest you do not do a aqua hue paint on the walls.

I love that color Aloe! I'm not sure why JudyG is suggesting to not do aqua, I like the color you've chosen. But I have aqua running all throughout my house as an accent color, so obviously I like it.

I started with SW Rainwashed which is similar to the blue above. In my kitchen on one wall it is grey/green and one wall is blue green. In the dining room it is bright blue. I also considered BM nob hill sage. But I kept coming back to Aloe. Its so rich, brightens my space and is the same color in both rooms. Im just not sure about using it in the dining room above and below chair rail which I like even if not real painter wants decision tomorrow

Try SW Tidewater or Nurture Green.

How about just on the bottom of rail? Keeping the top light will make the space seem brighter.

I think the aqua is fresh and a welcome change to all the sterile white and stainless steel kitchens that have been so popular lately. BUT I would choose an aqua that is 2 shades deeper and more complex - maybe a grey tone - than you show. This would make the aqua very now and a little more chic and not so mid-century and 1950s looking.

Don't be afraid to use rich colors and unusual combinations instead of playing it safe with cream and gray and white because this is what makes your home unique and special and an expression of you. Obviously, you don't want to end up with your house looking like a clown decorated it in their own image, so ask professionals how to use the more unusual colors and combinations. This way you'll have the best of both worlds: a home that is truly yours but expressed in the smartest and most comfortable and attractive way.

Oh, I missed the "flip" part. Naturally, in that case, you'd want to be conservative in your choices.

We have flipped many homes and never had this issue. Not flipping this one for awhile. I am leaning toward Rainwashed. As for dining room just not sure about the skinny little surfaces that face the living room without making it look stripey so think I will need to go one color. Friends are recommending Creamy on bottom but I don’t think that would look good without wainscoting

Way too dark and bold for my tastes. I would much prefer BM Sea Salt, if an aqua was required.

Sea Salt is really pretty and forgiving with different light.

To be honest, I have creamy in my dining room and I love it. The ceiling in that room is SW Meander which I also love. Maybe the answer is to put the blue on your ceiling instead! Meander might be too deep for your room (we have a ton of morning and afternoon light).
