April 2018 Lotto Blocks

My April Lotto blocks are headed your way. I’m mailing the March Lotto “Pinwheel” blocks tomorrow. Out of five honest attempts, I managed to cobble together two nice blocks. Their photo is under the March Lotto thread.

I‘ve also finished the April “Baby Buds” blocks, so they’ll go out in the same envelope.

The Baby Buds were a relaxing diversion from the Pinwheels. I made four blocks since they were so easy - and purple is my favorite color in the universe!

The grey background is a Henry Glass fabric from his “Folio” line. It is the same fabric in each background but it seems to be different shades depending on the colors next to it.

Grey is my least favorite color in the universe. I did not have one scrap of grey in the house. I found this piece at a quilt shop’s closing sale.

The line is made in many other colors, too, all with the tiny leaves and thin vines.

The green centers are a batik fabric and are not really wrinkled and crumpled. It’s the shading of the dye that looks like “wrinkles.”

The two matching marbled blocks were supposed to have been made into two of the “Pinwheel” blocks. I cut the fabric incorrectly, mangled the black triangles beyond all redemption and decided to just recut the marbled fabric into the Baby Buds.

You’ll have to tap the photo to see it without the distortion. Why do most of my photos do this?
