I have a small unfinished basement/laundry room. Instead of properly finishing it, I was wonder if I can legally just use something like the 1/16 in. x 4 ft. x 8 ft. Plastic Panel that they sell at homedepot. It's real light and easy to cut. I'd just cut and screw to button of joints for the ceiling and similar to side joints for the basement's side walls. I'm just trying to reduce some of the dust fall as well as make it a bit more athestically pleasing. I'd cut around light fixtures light dry wall, etc. would this be against code?
