Irrigation Feed Help!

Hey guys,

We just built a new house last year and its finally time to get it landscaped so our kids can run around. I want to start the irrigation but have a question about our main feed the plumber stubbed out back. Our water main comes in the front of the house/property into our basement furnace room where the water meter is. After the meter it splits into 2 ... one for the house and one for the outside taps/irrigation. My question is because the irrigation is on with the outside taps, how much will the water pressure affect the irrigation if someone is running an outside tap? Is this a good way of doing things??

one question, are you going with a manual or automatic system. if manual and running during the day the pressure loss can be substantial. if automatic your system will most likely be set to run at night so loss from the taps is unlikely.

It will be an automatic system and that's a very good point! If we do run anything during the day it will be drip irrigation zone and I'm sure its not the end of the world for that to lose a bit of pressure here and there? Thanks again!
