So I planted 3 (2 y.o.) heritage red rasberries last fall and pruned down the single canes to two inches, per advice I'd read. Fast forward to this spring and new shoots start popping out in early March, which seemed pretty early to me but I was stoked to see they survived the winter. Anyway some freezes since then have all but killed these new shoots. What is the likelihood that the plants themselves are done for?
