Depends if the walls are nowhere near windows it could look silly. If there are windows on the wall and you just want to extend the drapes, that is often a nice idea.

It's actually a large lobby wall adjacent to the large front windows of my business. I own a therapeutic massage studio and I want clients to feel enveloped by something soft and welcoming.... A local artist suggested to just hang some breezy earth toned panels instead of artwork. Walls are 12 ft x 12 ft. I have no idea how that will look, since I am no artist.
