I recommend soft light gray walls with a chartreuse accent wall, then use small pops of turquoise here and there around the room.

Well I have commissioned an artist from Etsy . I've used her before.

So it will be similar to this 70 inches x 28 in peacock colors with the darker pink throughout! Excited.

To transform a basement, especially with such a nice piece of furniture, consider seagrass wallpaper. I think you can get it from a home improvement store, and the art would look great on it. It lends itself to both the masculine and feminine, and as it goes great with more asian or tropical themes, you can go modern or eclectic too, and it won't interfere with color schemes.

Alexandria Beige, Brandon Beige, Ashley Gray, Cape May Cobblestone - BM or Realist Beige - SW , and many more could look gorgeous on the monitor but way different on your walls. Take your time and do some research, pick different shades and see them in your room. This will help you understand the colors and make your job of choosing the right one much easier.

Bobby if you really like that summer plum color... Why don't you do the walls behind your couch with it and the other walls in a grey. It's only a can of paint. If you get tired of it in a couple of years its still only a can of paint. But for now it would give your room the wow factor and your peacock color paintings will look amazing with it. Be brave ..you won't regret it.... Remember how long it took to convince you to put the satchel upstairs? You we're afraid of color but you said you love it now. I really think you will love this room too if you go bold behind the couch with the plum or a bright blue.

How about a dark golden color, something warm and bold but isn't fighting for attention.. let your accents be colorful and the dark gold frame them.

I'm late to this party. It sounds like you've already decided on a color. I'll still contribute what I've done. To give you continuity with the rest of your home, I like the idea of carrying your stairway color into the basement at 1/2 strength - a pale golden yellow - and using accessories to get your punch of color. If you want an accent wall, the tv niche would be a good place for, perhaps, an orange. It sounds like you are off to a fabulous start.

Bobbie, this room has been frustrating me. I like what Nancy Reese has done above, I also did a few renderings with a gray green wall behind the couch and different rugs. This was before I saw the art you commissioned. I'll post them anyway. Maybe they'll give you a new idea.

Genivieve, bali is not a deep color, but it is a strong color with lots of green. See it in person the next time you get to a BM store.

AIMRAN... I actually think the plum will make the room too dark. Originally I love the bluish/ turquoise and I am drawn to that. SO.... I think Bm in the tropics or a blue like in my original photo. but the tv wall the color pop. Now would that look bad since there is a break in the wall.? hallway...

I don't know what color that is, but this is pretty close. I think you're just going to have to paint samples on the actual wall before you'll know for sure.

What would you like to be the focal - the green sofa or the painted wall?
If you go for dark paints, almost whatever color you choose the wall is going to pop; choosing a lighter color or a light neutral you highlight the sitting area, the green sofa.
Also working with blue can be tricky - it tends to look darker on the wall. My advice , again :) , is to bring in color swatches and then buy a sample for the one you like best, paint it on a big white board and see how it looks (sometimes it's hard to believe how different the color looks on a bigger area)

Another option that would work great with green and turquoise could be navy blue




For light blue I'd rather go with gray with blue undertone.

You posted few days ago a photo that you love. Painting an accent wall in "in the tropics " or Hidden Saphire it might be a little too bold. That's why I advice to paint it on a board first.
To get the look in that picture you could just paint a light neutral (greige, beige : Stone Hearth 984, Inner balance 1522 or check the grays I posted few days ago ; or even darker ones - Winter Gates AC-30, Galvestone Gray AC -27, Graystone 1475) add a cream rug, you have the green sofa and the turquoise poufs. Add some cream and turquoise pillows, some green accents around the room and you are done.

I like that idea. Keep it simple. So I should do all wall the same right? I will okay with accents in room. I def want the room to remain bright.

Navy blue, but only 1 wall. You can also do a very light green or if you are willing to go for something different....try a shade of brown (dark) with brushed off shades of gold.

Nice art. Very modern. I would go for a color on the wall to make everything tie in. Will be wow! Do both walls behind the sectional in plum or blue and grey in the other walls. You'll really love it!

Sherwin Williams Lanyard on the walls and Roman Column for trim. That will neutralize the setting so you can focus on color in the accessories, art and fabrics.
