I noticed the under cabinet LED lights. How are they? Do they bring a "spot light" effect onto the counter tops that people often complain about?

I have LED under cabinet lights and they come with a Difuser cover that eliminates any spotlight or pinpoint on the counter. I love them.

Learn more about LED under cabinet lighting options for your home at http://www.environmentallights.com/led-under-cabinet-lighting.html

We offer 3 different types of light bars to choose from, in addition to tape lights with diffusers as well for lighting large spaces. Both options will help to prevent "hot spots" when used with the diffuser.

Thank you, EnvironmentLights.com for your response. You will see a pattern of the small LED bulbs on the countertop; however, we have never received complaints about this from our clients.

If you are worried about seeing the little dots on your granite or other shiny surfaces, we usually recommend to our customers to put their light strips on the lip of your cabinet, facing the back splash. This is assuming that you have a lip and the bars or strips will be skinny enough to fit without showing! The ones we carry and some of the ones Environmental Lights shows above would fit perfectly. Plus, if you purchase LEDs that are bright enough, then pointing them toward the back splash won't result in any loss of light and will be plenty of light for task lighting!

why did you set the shelves back rather than making them 24" deep?
