I have never used the cabinets but my experience with box cabinets in general is that they are low quality and end up being fairly expensive after shipping/install.

I would first suggesting finding someone local.

Many of my customers get quotes from home depot and we end up doing he cabinets for 1/2 the price as fully custom.

Thanks for this! I don't completely understand the last part - Are you saying Home Depot cabinets end up being half the price of fully custom? Are Home Depot cabinets good quality?

Cheepchinesecrapola. Stay away from imports.

There are good local custom makers. And there are fake ones. Beware of local fake custom that just orders doors and boxes and then assembles it. Or anyone that doesn’t have a clean room to spray the conversion varnish. Or who doesn’t use conversion varnish.

No I was saying that by the time you pay shipping, install, buy all the extra trim they forget to budget for that most of these shops who sell box cabinets end up costing just as much if not more than a custom shop.

I work for a custom cabinet shop that happens to be located really close to home depot. Customers will come in with quotes from there for say $20,000 after all fees and for the most part we are able to do the job for say $16,000. And you are getting fully custom cabinets designed however you would like.

See if there is any custom or semi custom shops in your area.

Both Home Depot and Lowe's sell quality special-order cabinets that are made in America, BUT they make a 37% mark-up on labor to install. Finalize a layout working with an experienced installer and order the boxes but don't buy the installation services. There's usually a shipping charge of a couple hundred dollars that just can't be gotten around.
