Can we make these work?

I just bought a new dining set for our house... then we found our dream home and I am not sure I can make the new dining set work. I am worried about the style as well as color. The current plan at the very least is to paint the wainscot a color (suggestions?) and the top a neutral color. Then of course add a rug. I included pictures of the house with current table (very much not our style) and our table (stock pictures, the top is a little more grey). Thank you!

Since the furniture and window treatments in the the first pic are what makes the room so 'fancy,' I think your dining set will work. I'd suggest leaving the white on the bottom of the walls, and using the color you want on the top.

Oh, I think it will be fine. Once the PO's things are gone, you change the light fixture, and paint above the wainscoting it will come together. Simplifying everything and adding your style with art and textiles will be a 180 from where it is, now.

I agree that this table will be fine. And I agree that the wainscoting stays white--unless you paint the rest of the trim. Wainscoting is trim so it should all match.

Are you in the house? If you like green, I think your dining set will be fine in the new room. The drapery is the major mismatch. Maybe straight sheer at the sides of the windows for your lighter style. Going with a light neutral above the wainscoting will allow you to add any color you want for the décor.

Changing the window treatments,the wallpaper, rug,art, and lighting will completely reset the space. Your table will be fine. Congrats on your new home!

Just try changing the window treatments, wallpaper, chandelier, and rug. Once that is done, your table will work wonderfully.
