Agree with Angel. In fact, I'd look into removing the moulding as well.

I would remove the moulding and not put anything up there. It will just look dated.

I would remove the art work and put up an attractive mirror so people can check themselves coming in or out.

The mirror can be oval or round. I like a round mirror with a wood frame, or a starburst shape, and they come with gold or silver frames or wood frames.

I would remove all candles from the top of that table. When people enter or leave with coats and purses and backpacks, it is way to easy to knock over a candle and that is dangerous!

You can put an attractive small tray on the top of that tray to hold mail and keys, and on the bottom shelves of that rack, an attractive round or square tall basket with sides to hold things like slippers or scarves.

I would remove family photographs from that table, any house guests will know who your family members are, any anyone making deliveries to your home should not be privy to that information.

On the left side of the table (away from the door) you can put a small live green plant.

What is opposite this table? Is that a coat closet? Is that a corridor next to it?

What is that brown and white object at the bottom of the third picture? Where is that in relation to your entry?
