Growing under Lights

Newbie needs advice

Hi there!

I am very new to gardening and am trying to start some tomatoes, peppers, and basil indoors to eventually move outdoors. I planted the seeds about 10 days ago in a Nanodome on a heat mat. This morning I transferred them to just a grow T5 grow fixture. I made my own soil blocks using an organic potting mix that a nursery recommended for starting seeds.

Do they look ok? A few of the tomatoes slightly curled their leaves under after I moved them out of the nanodome. (Please ignore the leggy zinnias on the left -- they are just an experiment)

Does my setup look ok?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Do you have drain holes in those bins?

Also, when you transfer to outside, you’ll have to harden them off or the sun with scorch them.

No I don't. I made soil blocks, and so far have been watering by pouring the water in the side of the bin and letting it wick up into the soil blocks. I've been watering about every 4-5 days when the soil dried out again. Do you think that's a problem? Thanks for your advice. :)

Extremely short term, maybe not. But you cannot water correctly this way and you’re never able to flush the soil either. I would drill holes in the bottom and prop it up over a saucer.
