Stair Carpet Runner Help

My one year old son took on these wooden stairs yesterday... the stairs won :-( As much as I love the exposed wood we need some carpet to protect our little ones. Would like a stair runner but need advice on how to place one with a split landing level like mine. Ideas?!

It looks like the just continue the runner along the landing.

You can choose a runner without a pattern. This way it wall be easy to line up without a seam.
