I'll be at Camp Cedar Hill on Friday to pick up some things for my troop (I co-lead both my daughters' troops) and can ask/look. My daffodils aren't blooming yet, so not sure I'll have an answer for you.

Many thanks to both of the above who took the time to respond to my question. Yes, I will be in touch with the Girl Scout Museum with a few other memories that might be of interest. Although my 'never to forget memory' was walking home to Cedar Hill from the one room, 5 grade, school house on Beaver St. A warm September afternoon and over my head the sky and clouds were a rolling, seething mustard yellow color. Impossible to describe. The 1938 hurricane hit that evening. We had no warning. I slept though it awaking the next morning to a beautiful, sunny day and not a tree standing as far as I could see.

That's such a lovely memory! I will certainly check out the grounds and inquire at Cedar Hill on Friday :)

suz, Thanks for your efforts. It has been a bad winter for the Northeast. Been there. Lived through it. Moved south. As a kid I was often at the Arnold Arboretum which had mostly pit greenhouses at the time. Three of them were devoted to Camellias and I can recall standing in the snow, looking down at those beautiful blossoms under glass...thinking, some day I am going to grow those. Now I can. Wishes do come true!
